Hello,

A colleague wants to buy a used Ibiza Cupra with 110 kW and a 2.0 16V engine (gasoline icon_evil.gif).
Since he has NO knowledge of cars, he asked me to help him with the purchase decision.

I wanted to perform a performance measurement using K-Power, and the control unit was recognized, but I didn't have the units for the measured values. I was able to figure out most of them.
Now my question: I couldn't find a measurement block where I could log the speed. icon_evil.gif Does such a thing not exist for a gasoline engine, or is it due to the shareware version of VAG-COM?

The data was read out using Vag-com 409.1 shareware software and a DIY adapter, as well as version 311, which was also shareware.

Due to the limited time, I didn't write down the engine control unit number.

The car was a model from 1997, which corresponds to the 6K body style.

'I know this is a bit of limited information, but maybe someone here knows more.'

Best regards,

Hi,

What is the engine code?

If in doubt, the logging should work through the instrument cluster. However, in my case, the sampling rate of the values is lower, meaning that VAG-COM reads 3 values per second, but the instrument cluster itself probably updates too slowly.
Therefore, it's better to log the data from the engine control unit (ECU).

Best regards, Rainer.

Okay, next time I'm in Ibiza, I'll try using AI and definitely make a note of the vehicle identification number (VIN) and the engine control unit (ECU) number.

Thanks so much for your help.

Interestingly, after my colleague drove the Cupra and then my diesel-powered Cupra, he's now considering getting the TDI version himself.

Perhaps I should fairly tell him that he is not entirely original icon_cool.gif.
