I'm considering selling my ALH 90PS TDI (Golf IV) and buying the same car again, but this time with a 6-speed gearbox and climate control.
90 horsepower is not enough for me

. The 5th gear is too short

. The manual air conditioning is quite annoying

. Also, I was lucky in a way. Someone hit my car, so hopefully some money will come out of it. But to do that, I would have to give up my Golf and buy a new one.
Okay, so far I've read that the 130 hp PD TDI engines aren't really fully developed, and I was actually quite happy with my 90 hp engine (because of its reliability and fuel consumption).
'In the long run, I would like to have more horsepower and torque, but I don't necessarily want to get it through chipping.'
Currently, I am considering the following options:
110 hp VE TDI.
130 hp PD TDI.
Possibly a 115 hp PD TDI engine.
Are there any basic tips on which engine offers what advantages (tax class, susceptibility to issues, durability, performance)? Can you recommend a specific engine (with its engine code)?
I understand that I will have a higher diesel consumption with these engines, but I am willing to accept that.
PS: Why can't I type the word 'v er k au f e n'? It always autocorrects to 'verkaufen' when I try to type it.
