Hello,
'In my Polo 6N TDI, manufactured in 2001, there's a rattling noise coming from the front area on the driver's side when driving over bumpy roads or, for example, a manhole cover. It's difficult to pinpoint exactly where the sound is coming from; it seems to be either in the footwell area or near the dashboard. I already took it to the workshop, and they replaced the left shock absorber. Unfortunately, that didn't fix the problem!'
It sounds like someone is lightly hitting an empty plastic cola bottle against something. It's really annoying!
Does anyone know about this problem? I would be very grateful for any advice or suggestions!
Echt Sad!
Otherwise, I'll need to check the exhaust again. And if I remember correctly, the two cable linkages for the gear shift also come out near the driver's feet. Could something be transmitting from there into the car's interior? Otherwise, there isn't much else up front that could be rattling... I assume the engine mount (on the transmission side) is properly seated?
