Hello,

I read a measurement value block "0" on my Audi TDI B4 1Z.
All values are within range except for field number 4, which is the injection amount. The required value is 11.45, but the current value is 0.04. Also, field number 10, which is the intake air mass, should be between 84 and 128, but the current value is 160 (all values are at idle). The engine is running great, though.
What could be the reason for this? How exactly does VCDS (Vag-Com) work?

Hi TDI-Seppl,

Hi,
In block '000', only integer numbers from 0 to 255 are displayed.
So, the value 0.04 is actually not possible.
Since group 000 belongs to the functions that are only available in the unlocked version of VAG-COM, it is possible that - if something went wrong during the unlocking process icon_rolleyes.gif - there is garbage in the fields.
The same applies to field number 10, if the speed is within the normal range, but the mass airflow sensor still reports a value that is too high.
What are the values like in the other ad groups for the free version?

If necessary, go to a reputable dealer and add a '1551' or '1552' to the part number.
Then you'll at least know whether the values are reasonable.

Best regards, Rudi.

hello,

Yes, it is displayed as a whole number, 004 (which was a typo).
I deactivated the exhaust gas recirculation system; perhaps that's why the values have changed?

Yo, that happened to me too. That's fine as it is. Since you're no longer releasing exhaust gases, more air is needed to compensate for the deficit.
When the engine is idling and the EGR valve is active, more air is drawn through the mass airflow sensor (MAF) than is actually intended, which is why the reading is higher.
Something like that is how Rainer explained it to me... icon_smile.gif
