Hello everyone,
I've tried searching, but I only found information about the Golf 4. Since my G3 Variant is making a clunking noise at the front axle, I want to replace the tie rod ends and stabilizer bar links. What torque should be used to tighten the nuts on a Golf 3?
Greetings.

"Thank you!"
Are there any other things I should be aware of during the installation? Something strange is that the new stabilizer links are thicker around the bolt than the old ones. The old nut might be an M6, while the new one is at least an M8. Has something been changed, and was a reinforced version released?
Greetings.

Sure, that's possible. To be honest, I've never really paid that much attention to it. MfG. Michael

Hello everyone,
This weekend, I replaced the sway bar links, and it actually went pretty well. However, it was quite difficult to install the new links; you really had to push hard to get them onto the stabilizer bar. Now I have a question regarding the rubber bushings. I tightened the nut to the specified 25 Nm, but is it normal that the upper rubber bushing gets completely squashed and pushes out sideways under the washer? I didn't notice this with the lower rubber bushing.
Greetings.

Yes, when it's fully extended. It should look better when it's retracted. MfG. Michael

Mosque TDI-GTI-4-Motion, and thank you for your help.
jetzt habe ich aber noch eine Frage bezüglich des Einbaus. Vielleicht habe ich da ja was falsch gemacht. Wird die Mutter unter der Koppelstange erst angezogen wenn das Fahrzeug im eingefederten Zustand ist? Or does it not matter?
Greetings.

Then I am relieved and I hope that the TÜV (German technical inspection agency) will approve my machine again for another two years.

VW changed something about this. In the older models, there were relatively small washers, but when I replaced the tie rods on my TDI (which uses the same axle as the Golf III), there were shims included that were larger than the rubber bushings. This made the whole assembly look much less compressed.
It's normal for the thin washer.
