Hello everyone,

I drive an Audi A3 8P manufactured in 06 with a 6-speed DSG transmission. A colleague noticed that when downshifting from 2nd to 1st gear at traffic lights, there's sometimes a slight jerk. He then sent me a guide on how to perform a new basic setting, as this sometimes makes the gear changes smoother afterwards. However, after performing the basic setting, I now have the following problem: the "PRNDS" indicators are flashing.

01087 - Initial setup not performed.
005 - No or incorrect initial setup/adjustment.
01087 - Initial setup not performed.
005 - No or incorrect initial setup/adjustment.

I followed all the instructions exactly (transmission -> basic settings -> block 061 -> wait until "Off" changes to "On" -> block 060 -> wait until "Off" changes to "On"). Could it be that the mechatronics unit is now damaged? The car still drives normally, but the indicator light is flashing in the instrument cluster.

If anyone has ever experienced a similar problem or can offer any advice on this matter, I would be very grateful.

Best, Chris.

Just read the instructions for the basic DSG settings; your colleague probably didn't send them to you.
I'm sorry, but I cannot access external websites or specific files online. Therefore, I am unable to translate the text from the provided URL.

icon_wink.gif Then check what was not or was done differently.

And in such cases, please post the complete car scan.

It's unnecessary because I followed the instructions exactly. I've also tried it multiple times afterward, and it simply doesn't work. That's why I contacted you in the first place, because I'm completely stuck. It was working perfectly before, except for the "jerking," and even now it still runs great, except for this stupid error and the blinking light.

And regarding the automatic scan: will it be done next time? icon_smile_thumb_up.gif

Hi Frickl! icon_wink.gif

Speaking of unnecessary things:
You should NEVER, NEVER, NEVER simply adapt or perform basic adjustments on a DSG (direct gear system) using just (advanced) guesswork. icon_exclaim.gif

In very rare cases, one can fix a problem using a laptop, even though it is increasingly suggested that this is possible in today's world icon_rolleyes.gif.

The electronic stability control (ESC) system generally adapts itself to the component tolerances during operation, but this process will not work if there is an actual (mechanical) fault, and in your case, I strongly suspect that is the problem.
The basic settings are no longer working either, because the parameters are outside the specified tolerance range.

Before you further damage the DSG (dual-clutch transmission) and mechatronics system with unnecessary resets, I would first log and evaluate essential parameters during operation to rule out other potential issues.
This includes the pressure readings for the hydraulic pump, specifically the actual pressure, pressure level 1 (minimum pressure), pressure level 2 (maximum pressure), and ideally, the actual and target pump speed.
In the next step, all the rotational speeds (shaft 1, shaft 2, input, output) would be important in order to detect any potential slippage in the coupling.

What is the mileage on the DSG transmission? When was the last oil and filter change performed, and what type of oil was used?

Best regards from Munich!

Good morning icon_wink.gif

Okay, regarding the transmission: it currently has just under 119,000 km on it, and the last oil change, including the filter, was done at 117,000 km. According to the workshop, it used the exact same oil as VW specifies, and it was also filled using a special device.

Regarding the slipping clutch: I will do a diagnostic run today or tomorrow and report on what the pressures are doing. But purely speculatively: could it be that the mechatronics system has malfunctioned, even though it appears to be working normally? (The gear indicator on the dashboard is flashing).

Best, Chris.

Hello again! icon_wink.gif

Would have, could have, should have - or maybe not?
Speculations won't get us anywhere here, and your first one probably just set you back. icon_rolleyes.gif

Please check the logs, don't forget the Autoscan, and then we can proceed, okay? icon_wink.gif

If the jerking issue hadn't been present before the oil change, it could very well be related. Again, this is purely speculative.
And my special device can also fill things well... icon_cool.gif What's more important here is the right type of oil and the correct amount.

Best regards from Munich!

And the correct amount can be quickly checked by considering the boundary parameters. Whether you use special equipment or not, getting the oil in is actually quite simple.
