Hello Rainer, after investigating the Windows 10 dialog boxes, I now see in the Device Manager that the HEX-USB driver was actually not installed or updated. Whatever the reason...
I searched for drivers on the PC, installed them, and now the interface has been recognized!

Tomorrow, I'm going to the car. Should probably work now.

Thank you for the input; sometimes it can feel a bit silly when it turns out that the whole issue was just due to a small detail.
...I found myself better suited to XP...

everything is working as expected. I can no longer be certain whether the interface was connected during installation, but it is certainly possible that it was.

Today I experienced the same problem on Windows 10. Interface not recognized.
I had to install the driver from the Ross-Tech directory.

Small update from me: After reinstalling the latest VCDS version on a new computer, I also had the problem that the driver was missing, and therefore the HEX-CAN USB was not recognized.
After manually updating the driver from the above directory, it worked immediately.

The installation package has been updated again; it seems there was a bug in the driver installation for older interfaces.

Unfortunately, I need to bump this post, as I'm now experiencing the same problem after updating to version 26.3.0. The interface is not found. The USB library version 03.02.07 does not seem to have a solution. The Device Manager is not working with it. Hex-USB + CAN Windows 11

In the "Tree Menu" installation, install the "Legacy Drivers". These are normally disabled because they are no longer produced since 10 years.

Latest VCDS 26.3 from customer account, does the installation work otherwise?
