Hello everyone,
My journey with the Passat is hopefully coming to an end.
After the gearbox control unit of a similar donor vehicle was installed, the car is no longer exhibiting any unusual behavior. The engine starts successfully every time, and in electric mode, it always displays "Ready".
Because the donor vehicle was 6 months younger, the ECU had an increment higher for both the SW number and the data set compared to my original. E -> F
021 -> 022
Therefore, my VW dealership wants to make no changes to the car. However, they at least provided me with the logs from the ODIS session. So that I can see that it would not be a problem to carry out the inspection of the construction state and to install the correct SW on the gearbox.
Unfortunately, the TCU swap also worked as expected, completely disabling component protection... and that's across the entire system (see Appendix)!
Therefore, if someone is officially authorized with ODIS and the corresponding rights (GeKO/SVM) and is located in the Alb-Bodensee region, they can raise their hand or send me a private message (PN). Then we'll clarify money and time.
Thank you and best regards.
Bo

Hello
Bo |
Not a recommendation, but have you already inquired with chip tuners and radio installers in your area?

Yes, clone all of them in an assembled state, and my mechatronics are already installed. But I want the newer building with up-to-date software that doesn't damage gearboxes anymore.

VW rejected the request for used parts in the summer. I had to clone the old control unit to the "new" one.
It's been running smoothly ever since, and Dad is happy again.

Hi there, sorry if this is slightly off topic o saw a very interesting post by STE Bo about flushing the internal filers in a mechatronic but being a new member couldn’t post there or pm. I have the mechatronic out of the car it builds pressure but after about 4 seconds of pump off it’s back to 43 bar causing the pump to run again. I’ve got a new accumulator but while it’s out was hoping to find a way to vacuum test the oil ways to check for leaks.
Thanks James

What I described was a filter that was clogged with residue from clutch abrasion. Flushing doesn't help. If the filter is clogged, the pressure doesn't build up to the specified values within the specified time, and the pump activation is aborted.
What you are describing points to a leakage within the mechatronics itself (which is unusual/unlikely), a damaged actuator gasket, or most likely a leakage within the gearbox itself (either the slave cylinder or the shaft).

Thanks for that it was initially struggling to build pressure getting to about 14 - 17 bar I did a fluid change as it was overdue after that it built the pressure but dropped back to 43 after 4 secs. AI suggested it may be the accumulator is broken so it can’t store enough pressure. So I have a replacement to try but while it’s out I was hoping to test if there is any leaks I’m now suspecting debris in the non return valves but can’t find enough information about the mechanic to know the internal path ways to be able to test.
