Hello..., nail, nail..., has anyone even been listening to me???
I would like to know if anyone has experience with *** or MTM tuning for the V6 TDI engine!
I didn't want to start a tuner war!!!!!!!
For me, *** would be interesting because there will be 'chip weeks' again soon (I'll be notified and I'll post about it here). *** is exactly 43 km from me, but for my diesel car, I would also be willing to go to MTM! It all depends on whether the prices during the 'chip weeks' are attractive.
MTM (www.mtm-online.de) offers the following for the V6 TD1 110 KW:
- 180 hp, 405 Nm
*** (www.der-***.de) offers a performance upgrade for the V6 TDI engine, increasing its power to 110 kW.
- 180 horsepower, 360 Nm of torque.
Why is there such a significant difference? According to my information, *** is recognized by Audi, which means that if there are any problems, warranty claims are not an issue! How is it with MTM?

Hello everyone,
Here's a brief comment on the topic of Oberscheider/MTM.
The fact that Mr. Mayer worked on engine development at Audi in prehistoric times doesn't really guarantee that the programming work used for chip tuning there always represents the optimal solution.
The fact is that MTM, regardless of its long-standing reputation as an Audi tuner, particularly in the diesel sector, no longer has more experience than other companies. For example, Oberscheider already offered a 170 hp tuning kit based on the 110 hp engine, including TÜV approval, back in the mid-1990s.
It is also a fact that numerous tuners rely exclusively on Oberscheider when optimizing turbo diesel engines. Motorsport Schmid and Rennsporttechnik Wimmer are both excellent providers in their field, operating professionally in motorsports for many years. Both companies source their diesel software exclusively from Oberscheider.
Therefore, I consider it highly unlikely that these gentlemen would cooperate with anyone who 'tinkers around' with the Kennfelder.

Hello Merlin,
I would choose the *** option. Not because of the specific details, but simply because of the distance – if something goes wrong, you can always go back there if necessary. Gruß Bertil

Hello everyone,
Furthermore, it is a fact that numerous tuning companies rely exclusively on Oberscheider when optimizing turbo diesel engines. Motorsport Schmid and Rennsporttechnik Wimmer are both excellent providers in their field, operating professionally in motorsports for many years. I therefore consider it very unlikely that these gentlemen would cooperate with anyone who 'tinkers around' with Kennfelder......
If that's a fact, then why don't you list some names? There's plenty of space here.
'A professional appearance has nothing to do with the work they offer. If you want to professionally optimize (modify) something, you need at least a knowledge field description file (DAMOS). Oberscheider certainly doesn't have something like that. Even if Wimmer and Schmid buy their files from Oberscheider, that doesn't say anything about the quality. The best example is Superchips in England, the market leader for tuning chips in Europe – complete nonsense.'
Oberscheider is definitely not at that level, but he could certainly improve in some areas. Again, the performance achieved by a tuner through its modifications has nothing to do with the quality of the optimization, and not every performance increase is an optimization.
If only some tuners would be honest about the numerous modifications they make! Why do they always downplay things in court when they realize a surveyor is involved who can interpret their changes? The answer is quite simple: if you're not entirely sure, then you just deny everything and stay silent. There are enough people around who will take care of any financial compensation. On the other hand, I have to admit that it's almost impossible for a tuner to defend themselves in a damage claim; if something happens, the modification is always to blame.
Okay, here's the translation:
'Now, regarding the TÜV (German technical inspection): Any tuner who modifies the engine's tuning map will likely fail the TÜV inspection. The only way to pass is to have a new emissions test certificate created, which costs a lot of money, just like the manufacturer has to do to obtain the EC operating permit. However, with chips that have been modified in this way, you probably won't even need to go to the TÜV station. The amounts defined by the manufacturer in these maps are maximum values. Every milligram above those values violates the EU emissions standards applicable to that vehicle. This also applies to tuning adapters.'
Various TÜV organizations, such as TÜV NORD or TÜV Saar, therefore refuse to inspect vehicles that have been modified in this way.
It's actually time for manufacturers to absolutely protect the initial settings, which were defined through mapping and formed the basis for the EU operating permit, against manipulation. Something like that is coming next year. Those who want to find out more can visit the website of the chip manufacturer ST and search for 'tuning protection.' And, of course, fuel injection pumps that prevent signal manipulation already exist.
