A4 Avant: Leaky Fuel Cooler - 8E, PD, 96kW

A4 Avant 1.9 TDi 96kW, 05-2002, "Pumpe Düse" AVF engine, leaking fuel on the underside of the vehicle, specifically near the front right fuel line. Hoses and clamps are tight. The leak is located precisely at a weld seam between the pipe and the cooling fins. The plastic underbody panel is undamaged. Has anyone experienced this problem before?

The fuel cooler is usually located on the underside of the vehicle, near the right rear wheel, and covered by a plastic panel. Are we talking about the same component?

Sure, the same component was replaced today, and we received a 70% discount on the part.

and what was the cause...? Was it a rockfall?

Manufacturing defect in the weld seam on the return pipe/cooling fin body.
