Speedometer signal: 6-speed same as 5-speed?

After upgrading my now quite old A3 with a 6-speed gearbox and 110 horsepower, I've noticed that the speedometer seems to be reading a bit optimistically.

In the lower speed range, I have over 10% over-advance. Due to a lack of sufficient space, I haven't measured it yet at Autobahn speeds.

Unfortunately, I don't have a reference value for my old gearbox. Could it be that the sensor is providing a few more pulses than the old 5-speed gearbox?

Yes, Signal is the same. Even the connector fit on my A4 when I changed from a 5-speed to a 6-speed transmission.
