VW Golf 3: Front Brake Upgrade Guide

Hello.
I would like to replace the brake discs and pads on the front axle of my Volkswagen Golf III TDI. Unfortunately, my DIY manual doesn't describe the Lucas/Girling system. (See attachment).
Does anyone have any instructions or tips on how to do this best?
Is it enough if I remove the entire bracket (screws ), or do I also need to loosen screws 1 in order to replace the pads?

Will I be able to remove the screws without an impact wrench and a lift, since they are tightened to 125 Nm?

- Remove the wheel.
- Remove both screws numbered 1.
- Remove the saddle and hang it on the shock absorber.
- Check the sliding parts for ease of movement (if not smooth, make them smooth).
- remove old coverings/surfaces.
- Remove both screws labeled "No. 8".
- Remove the brake pad carrier and verschandeln the guides.
- Remove the mounting screw for the brake disc.
- Remove the brake disc.
- verschandeln the scar/application area.
- verschandeln the new brake disc (it's normal for it to have some grease on it to prevent surface rust).
- Install a new brake disc.
- Tighten the fastening screw by hand (!).
- Attach the brake pad carrier with screws.
- Tighten screw number 8 to 125 Nm.
- Install new coverings/surfaces.
- Push the piston in the saddle back.
- Attach and screw on the saddle.
- Tighten screw number 1 to the specified torque (I don't have it in my head right now ).
- Attach the wheel.
- Proceed in the same manner on the other side.
- Press the brake pedal several times until pressure builds up again.

Ready


You don't need a stage or an impact wrench for that. I never use an impact wrench when working on brake systems anyway.
Impact wrench = power tool.
Rabbit tools are not suitable for brake systems.
Besides the hammer to get the brake disc off.

Do you have any more tips on how to best remove screw 8? It's quite tight from the factory and is already pretty corroded in my case .
Yesterday, I sprayed that thing thoroughly with WD-40, hoping it would make a difference.
Otherwise, just use a good wrench?

I have this extendable wrench. When extended, it's about 60cm long, and it works great with that length. You can also use a ratchet, but you need to apply good pressure. Or a torque wrench.
