Hi!

I'm having another big problem with a POLO 1.2L AZQ, 3-cylinder gasoline engine.

The catalytic converter system's effect is too low. This error occurs approximately every 100 kilometers, and then the engine malfunction light remains on continuously.

Can the catalytic converter efficiency be read out using a VCDS diagnostic tool? And what lambda values should be considered?

Best regards.

Chris.

Possible causes of this error:
- Leak in the intake manifold or exhaust system.
- KAT faulty.
- Faulty oxygen sensor or its wiring.

Sure, here's the translation:

"Could you please post a VCDS Autoscan?" It would also be interesting to see the adaptation values of the Lambda tuning, as indicated in the label file.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer!

Here's the Autoscan. Can you tell me which MWB I should post?
Sure, here's the translation:

"Thank you."
Best regards, Chris.

I've experienced this same issue with a Polo before.

Traded my cat today, let's see if it works.

Even a lot of short-distance driving can cause this problem!

What driving conditions is the vehicle exposed to?

Take a look at MWB 30 and the following entries in the label file of the engine control unit.

Hi!

Has the error reappeared for you?
Could you possibly upload a few more so I have something to compare them to?

Best regards, Chris.

It was only two days ago.
So far, the error has not appeared, but it is probably too early to say anything definitive.

This is a log before I changed the cat, and I didn't create any logs after that.

Update the software; the current version should be at least 03E-906-033 @ 7000 (see TPI 2001227). Before that is done, the error detection can be icon_wink.gif essentially thrown away...

Hello!

Unfortunately, I'm still experiencing this error even after the software update.

The error occurs approximately every 100 kilometers.

"At VW, they said that their diagnostic program only reported this error."
The KAT was renewed, but then the KAT and the entire system underwent a functional test to reset all readiness values, and all tests were successfully passed.

I'm not sure what to think or feel about it anymore.

I'll check the valve timing tomorrow, and then I'll probably have to replace the catalytic converter.

There will probably only be the original versions again; it's supposed to have three different versions.

The valve timings are also okay. I've cleaned the throttle body again; it was very dirty.

Here are the logs from the Lambda probes again. Perhaps someone can tell me what they mean.

Best regards, Chris.
