certainly, thank you!
Now I'm looking for a hose, because VW wants 15€ for a 2-meter one!!
I already have the T-piece, and I've also acquired the LDA.
Hopefully, it will work out soon.

2 meters, 15 EUR.
That's cheap.
I paid 10 EUR per meter at VW.
Assuming we're talking about the hose connecting the vacuum pump to the engine control unit (ECU).

Well, I just got the same hose for 4 euros, 2 meters long. I think that's more convenient. It's really exactly the same.
I've now installed the LDA. Strangely, the pressure briefly rises to 0.9 bar and then drops back to just above 0.8 bar. It should actually be 1.2 bar...
That at least explains the lack of performance and the soot.
But what could it be now? I'm absolutely sure I used the correct resistor.
When I floor the accelerator in third gear, the boost pressure goes up to 0.9 bar and then stabilizes at just above 0.8 bar.
If I hold the accelerator at 3000 RPM, I get approximately 0.5 bar of pressure. --> Is that normal?
Does anyone have any spontaneous ideas?
According to the manual for the Elsawin system, you should disconnect the plug from the solenoid valve and, on the test stand, in 3rd gear at 3500-4000 RPM, the pressure should read 0.5-0.65 bar. I don't quite understand that either.
Thanks in advance for all the answers!!

Have you read the technical article about Steuerpneumatics in VP37 motors?
Then you would know why that is.
In a nutshell:
The turbo automatically regulates itself to 0.6 bar. A valve located in the fender "steals" some of the pressure to control it, causing the wastegate to open "later," specifically at around 0.9 bar.
However, the electronics need to recognize that things are getting too intense, and then they need to adjust accordingly, which results in overshoot – something that doesn't exist with a purely mechanical wastegate (at least, I haven't seen it on a T3 TD JX).
If the turbo produces 0.6 bar of pressure when disconnected, it's an indication that it's working correctly.
If he's messing around with the plug, it's probably something to do with the electronics.

Okay, I'm going to do a test run without the charging cable. Whether it's on a test stand or not shouldn't matter...

Okay, I just did a test run with the connector unplugged. It goes up to 0.6 bar and then settles at around 0.55 bar... I think that's normal.
Does it have to be the control unit now, or could something else be responsible?

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to do much lately, but I've now tried several different resistors.
10kΩ
17 kΩ
27 kΩ
34 kΩ
He's increasing the pressure to 0.8 bar, despite all the resistance.
Does anyone have an explanation for this? I've also measured the values on the circuit board where the resistor is supposed to be, and the correct values are present there...
It makes absolutely no difference what kind of resistor is inside.
The DZR times are not changing at all.
Does anyone have any other ideas?

Hi,
Quote: | | actually, it should be 1.2 bar | .
Anything exceeding 200 kPa is unregulated on your system, and all boost pressure protection mechanisms are disabled due to your modification.
It doesn't matter what kind of resistor you install if the boost pressure exceeds the measurement range of the boost pressure sensor.
Best regards, Rainer.

Hi Rainer,
He has a 021AF (the last recorded ascent of the MSA12 before its demise).
He already had the 2.5 bar sensor installed.
Boost pressures of 0.8 to 0.9 bar correspond exactly to the 1Z series.
I have no idea which resistor has been changed. This is based on the result of the boost pressure measurement.
He doesn't seem to be doing anything .
Best regards,
Rudi

Yes, but I have a 250 kPa sensor installed, as you can see in the picture above.
What else could it be?

Sorry, I didn't see the other side.
I replaced the pink resistor.

Hello,
Why work with a resistor?
The simple method for increasing the LD (light detection) signal, as described by Ulf, involves a diode inserted into the signal path of the LD sensor, which provides an increase of approximately 0.2-0.3 bar.
I'm not sure if that also works with the MSG's internal LD sensors.
Sure, here's the translation:

@hhairy, unfortunately, I don't understand what you mean right now. Do you have a link to it?
Just out of curiosity, has anyone actually managed to do that?
I was often asked if I would be able to do it, and apparently several people were having a problem with it.
The method using the diode sounds interesting... It's possible that I just misunderstood something.
