What is the size of the summer tires?

You're talking about 18" winter tires - not bad - that's probably not the usual size.

What you're describing is obviously not okay, but the wider the tire, the more unevenly the tread will wear down.
The standard wheel sizes for the Passat are 15 or 16 inches, or 17 inches for the "Sport" models.

If you're already using 18-inch wheels for your winter tires...
That's why the problem doesn't manifest itself as clearly on the 16-inch model.

"I'm experiencing the same problem with Dunlop SP Sport 200 tires in size 195/65 R15. I noticed it last weekend when I changed the summer/winter tires, and the summer tires were worn down to the wear limit after only 20,000 km. The wear indicators were already showing on the inside, while there was still about 1 mm of tread left on the outside. I wanted to get a wheel alignment, but it seems I might not need to. I only bought the car 4 months ago. The control arms should be fine; I had it checked at Audi with the previous owner before the purchase, and everything was okay. There's also no clunking or similar noises during driving."
At speeds of 140-150 km/h, I experienced vibrations throughout the car. I attributed it to poorly balanced tires.
I haven't looked at the wristwatches closely yet; they're almost new, but they don't vibrate.
I'm ruling out tire pressure for now, as I pay attention to it, and the previous owner also claimed to do so.

Does anyone have the adjustment values for VAG vehicles?
Are there different values, for example, for front-wheel drive vehicles?
- Sedan / Wagon
- various engine options.
or are they all the same?
Perhaps we can narrow down the problem in this way.

18-inch winter tires in size 235(50/18 and 18-inch summer tires in size 245/45/18 are suitable for the A8 D2.

For my A4 Avant, I used 225/45/17 summer tires and 205/55/16 winter tires.

Wear is always the same.

The track width values for Sedan/Avant/Quattro/Front models are the same. The only differences are for models with/without a sport suspension, but these differences are minimal, specifically in terms of camber. However, camber is only a guideline value, and it cannot be adjusted, only averaged.

I'm also experiencing a similar problem with my A6 C4.
The summer tires, size 225/50/16, are worn down on the inner edge of the front axle (about 3cm), while the outer edge still has 4mm of tread.
Regarding the winter tires in size 205/60/15 that I have been using (throughout the summer), I have observed a relatively even wear pattern.

I haven't had a wheel alignment done yet due to the high cost, and also because I'm currently using tires with the size 205/60/15.

With the C4, you can confidently go to your trusted tire shop and have a wheel alignment done. It has a fairly "conventional" front axle without all the modern gimmicks. With a properly adjusted geometry, the front tires will wear down very evenly. However, it's possible that the rubber bushings on the control arms are worn out, in which case even the best wheel alignment won't help. This can be a bit more expensive. You should be able to hear it; it will make a clunking noise when driving over bumps.
