hi andy,
Yesterday evening, I tried docking in the dark just for fun and couldn't find the socket. Earlier, I gave it another try, and bingo! But the location is absolutely ridiculous. If you don't have a plug, but instead have to use the 'cable-connecting method,' then you're doomed! Hats off to the developer and the g... d... s...!

Yes, yes, a masterpiece of German engineering!
Well, and with the PD issues...! You shouldn't always jump to conclusions!!!! You're like my wife. She only knows two states: pitch black and deep black!!!

Hi Jörg,
According to current plans, I will eventually also get a 130 hp TDI engine – if this series or the Ibiza with that engine is discontinued (or if it's not available in the Polo by then).
But first, I hope that this technology will continue to develop as much as possible by then .
By the way: Pessimism has a great advantage - you can only be pleasantly surprised. Gruß Ulf

Aha! So, not a categorical 'no' to PD after all!
I'm thrilled with the 130 hp engine . It's a lot of fun, even though the power delivery takes some getting used to! But one thing is certain: in terms of both the engine, chassis, and interior design, there are worlds between my 35i with 1 owner and this car!

@joergs:
Can't find the right socket for your OBD device?
It's located at the bottom of the dashboard (driver's side), underneath the steering wheel. It's hard to describe precisely. Just feel along the lower edge of the dashboard, above the pedals, or take a look there.
It was located under the front MAL (presumably a piece of equipment) and covered by a rubber panel in the 3B area.
Since the facelift in 2000, which changed it to the 3BG model, it has been like I described above.
Have fun with your heating oil Ferrari!

I'm familiar with your website. So far, I've mainly used it for information because I didn't have one of those modern devices! But I'll be visiting more often now, as your website is quite informative. I especially like your installation and assembly guides.
I've now found the socket. It's located in the trim panel near the clutch pedal, as described a little further above.
