Next piece of bad news: The mounting bolts are only available from VW as part of the luggage rack assembly, not individually. Costs 290€ per page icon_twisted.gif

What is the year of manufacture and what type of brakes (PR code)?
For example, for a 7n model manufactured in 2012 with production code 1LJ, the guide dowel is available individually: part number 251 615 219. The cost is approximately 20€ per item.

The larger 1LW / 1LX brake, which has a thickness of 30mm instead of 25mm, is not listed separately. However, five years ago, the carrier cost less than half of that (7N0 615 125 for the left side = €130).

It would be interesting to know if there are any non-standard guide pins available for purchase on the open market. This makes me suspect that (guide sleeve): https://www.car-parts.ie/oem-number/7n0615125 The next question is how precisely they fit...

Ideally, it would be good to check beforehand where the wear is occurring, whether it's on the guide pins or on the saddle. For that, we would need the nominal dimensions and tolerances...
Could it possibly be a (cheaper) imitation saddle?

The car is from 2015. It still has the original brakes installed. It has 102,000 km on the odometer. The production code is 1LW. The braking system should be a TRW system.

Are there any known issues here that might indicate worn-out casings? Apparently, the casings seem quite thin to me.

I have now ordered TRW brake caliper brackets and will replace them when I change the rotors and pads.

When compared to the latest generation (Bicon_cool.gif of the Passat, there is no room for compromise. Consequently, the saddle support will be eliminated.

I replaced the front brakes, and so far, the noise has disappeared.

The surfaces were worn down in a very unusual way. What does it mean: unequal strength, sometimes with no contact at all with the puck.

The saddle holder is fine. That's why I didn't exchange it.
Viele Grüße
Andreas
