unfortunately, there is no new information. I have carried out several inspections on Saturday and Sunday without success. I also tried disconnecting the battery for 2 hours, but that did not help either.

According to the error messages in the brake control unit:
01044 - Control unit incorrectly coded
00778 - Sensor for steering angle G85 - calibration not performed
01119 - Signal for gear recognition (sporadically)
and in the MSTG:
18057 - Data bus for drive, P1649-35-00 - missing message from ABS control unit

Unfortunately, there are more and more errors, the login for coding is not accepted, and the coding in the BSTG is 00000, so I can't make any changes.

Apparently, the coding may have been activated by the brake system test and then deactivated in block 103 without being stored in VCDS.

Currently, I think that despite your support, I won't be able to fix the problem. Is there another idea, or should I post another auto-scan?

Otherwise, my only option is to go to the WS (workshop) of someone I trust, which is something I actually want to avoid.

Hush, hush, hush... The coding of your ABS control unit 04457, which you posted in the scan you uploaded, is correct.

You no longer mention the system function test, and I suspect it is no longer relevant.

Perhaps there is a need for knowledge of which function performs which task. I have already read and understood the VCDS manual.

My advice is to not perform any work on safety-relevant vehicle components if you do not understand what you are doing. :idea:

yes, the car scan from last week included the coding. Unfortunately, it's no longer included now, and everything is set to 0000. I suspect that in block 103, my click system test is being stopped.

The system test is still ACTIVE, and I intentionally did not delete any codes. I still cannot even log in with 40168, so I can enter the code 04457 and operating number 05311 as many times as I want, but nothing is saved. This is also the case even when the ignition is turned on and off.

I have read the manual and I think I understand it. I printed it out from another website and keep it with me, as it is not allowed to be printed here.

I have been using the software intensively as a beginner, but unfortunately, without success and with certainty, due to beginner errors .

Thank you for the advice. However, my work should only involve bleeding brakes, now I am stuck on coding, which was not my intention.

Maybe there's still a hint somewhere, I would be happy to hear it.

a) Why did you change the code from 00000 to 04457?
b) Why didn't you enter any WSC (Working Software Check) values in the VCDS program settings before attempting the code change? For example, the ones that are listed in the "Brake System Control Unit" section during the Autoscan.

If VCDS displays error messages, please read and try to understand them. If not, please post here. Don't just click away at things!

I suspect you are pressing the buttons in the program randomly and without thinking.

Don't do that. VCDS is a professional tool. Either you know what each action entails or you should avoid it. :idea:

Do you understand what I'm trying to tell you with a) and b)? If not, I strongly advise you to visit a workshop before you start messing around with safety-critical control units and then nothing works as it should.

Hello everyone,

After several weeks and with the help of various individuals, I can finally announce a success, but first, I want to provide you with a complete overview of the responses to the last entry:

a) Several attempts were made with a former VW workshop employee, with the ignition on, then off, the program closed, etc. The coding was not accepted.

b) The WSC was also not accepted, or saved.

No further messages were received, so nothing was clicked. I only missed the confirmation message for the login, which I had already mentioned above.

After these attempts, I was in a workshop, and the manager tried repeatedly with a Bosch tester over 2 weeks, but he was also unable to restore the coding.

So, I made an appointment at a smaller VW workshop, as I value being able to talk to the service technician directly when dealing with such a problem, rather than just having the control unit replaced.

The first attempt by the employee also failed, and he contacted the TechServiceCenter and received instructions on how to proceed.
Unfortunately, this method also did not help to restore the coding. However, using the online help from the VW TSC, it was determined that there was a lockout of the control unit, for whatever reason. After purchasing a deactivation code, the employee was finally able to restore the coding, and I paid 172€ for this. That's at least what I was told, and I'm going to believe it. +1

I'm assuming that I couldn't fix it on my own, but I definitely caused it :roll:

So, thank you all for your help and patience. I'll probably need your assistance again soon.
