At 46,000 km / 28 months: Timing belt cracked, oil pump leaking, water pump bearing defective, valve cover gasket leaking. (€1300, 50% VW, 50% dealer).

The number 1 is a total loss - the timing belt broke, which is how the number 2 came about. Machine in my box.

ATJ/25000/16 months/1/1
After 2000 km following the engine replacement, it broke down again, again with a timing belt drive (according to the workshop), and while the initial problem was a faulty mass airflow sensor, the repair cost was still quite high, despite partial coverage by VW.
With the new machine, my car, which had been running quite well until then, transformed into a fuel-guzzling, spinning-wheel monster. Actually, one should probably classify that as significant damage, but I'll let it go for now.

For those who still want to register:

MKB / Rated distance / Rated time (months) / # minor damages / # major damages / total kilometers / age of the car.

"evaluated" in this context refers to the distance/time for which the number of errors applies, because with used cars, you often don't know the "history" for that specific period.

Error: Water pump failure at approximately 50,000 kilometers. Not too bad, as the timing belt was due for replacement soon anyway. Otherwise, a wheel bearing failed at 95,000 kilometers.

Currently experiencing occasional electronic problems, and I suspect relay 109, but I still need to investigate further.

Hi,

Apart from the persistent issue with the pressure vessel and the resulting problems with the VTG (vacuum train control), there have been no significant issues with the engine. Oh, and the radiator will be replaced in the next few days because it occasionally leaks some water. Because the climate control condenser is broken, it makes sense to replace the other one as a preventative measure icon_wink.gif.
