Hi there,
Okay, so if I want to check my injectors, what's the best way to proceed?
Nozzle out, and then what? Just crank the engine and hold the nozzle up in the air, watching it?
The nozzles are connected to a metal pipe, so I can't point them in any direction I want!
Perhaps someone can explain this to me in more detail!
Even though I don't have the money for new nozzles right now (I just paid €400 in taxes for this piece of junk, and then there's still being a student icon_sad.gif), I would still like to check them out at some point.

Regards,
Sausage blinkers.

Hello Wurstblinker,

Take a look at the PDF from Gremlin that's linked above. It couldn't be described any better than that.
You need a nozzle testing device, which is essentially a pump used to generate pressure.

Best regards,
Albrecht.

I took it to a Bosch service center and said, 'Could you test my injectors?'
The Klingon responds with 'Jagemsemalher.'

It cost me €5 for the coffee jar.

Please: DO NOT hold it up in the air and play with it. It will go wrong. It will cause endless mess, is extremely flammable, and if grubby fingers are nearby, you could get a hypodermic injection of it under your skin -> leading to blood poisoning...

CU Gremlin.

Thank you, Gremlin.
I was a bit confused because some people here were talking about checking the spray pattern themselves, using photos or something like that. I also didn't expect it to be so affordable at Bosch service.
Please excuse my clumsy question.

Hi,

However, I doubt that at every single Bosch service center, there's someone sitting there who is like a Gremlin 5€- Klingon... so, ask about the hole in the coffee fund before you hand over the nozzles icon_wink.gif.

You don't need to apologize. That was a perfectly valid question from you. Anyone who hasn't seen or done a nozzle inspection wouldn't be able to imagine what it involves.

I replaced my particulate filter elements and while I was at it, I also checked the injectors using a scanner.

It looks the same at 93,000 km on a PD engine as it does on a VEP-TDI engine.

Regards,
Thomas.
