Injector Lifespan AFN: How Long Do They Last?

"How long do they typically last?"
Mine now have a total of 180,000 km on the odometer, of which 140,000 km were driven under difficult conditions (with a constant heavy load).
The engine is producing significantly more soot in the exhaust than it was 5,000 km ago, and the performance has also noticeably decreased. The turbocharger is heavily coated with soot, and the variable geometry turbine (VTG) needs to be cleaned (which is currently being done).
On the occasion, I might as well replace the nozzles.
I'll take a look at the nozzles this weekend and see what's going on.

T3 - AFN - Russian?
Is the baby getting enough air? Is it too cold?
Is it ensured (and is it still the case now, not just at the time of the renovation) that the fire-fighting water supply is available and operational?

My injectors in the 1Z engine looked quite good from the outside (the outer layer) after 160,000 km. I didn't see any signs of a bad spray pattern, etc. Rainer installed new injector nozzles.

New ones certainly aren't completely wrong when it comes to mileage.

Hi Martin,
Don't worry, the engine is still running just as well as it did when it had 140,000 kilometers on it.
I really think the injectors are failing; I checked the remaining parameters (ESP settings, etc.) during the last timing belt change, which was only a few thousand kilometers ago.
The turbocharger has only 15,000 km on it, and I've never experienced any knocking sounds, not even with the two previous turbochargers that I destroyed in other ways.
Something is wrong, and the nozzles would somehow make sense to me .

Hi Jens,

If the issue were related to the nozzles causing droplet formation or leakage, you would likely see whitish smoke coming from the back. Black smoke, on the other hand, usually indicates a lack of oxygen, which points towards a problem in the charge air system.
