Hello,

I'm still looking for a good solution to reduce my engine speed at high speeds.

There are plenty of solutions available for horizontally mounted [devices/components].

But what about the ones that are installed lengthwise?

I've already asked this question in other forums, but I haven't received any answers... For example, is it possible to use the transmission from a C4 2.5TDi engine in an AFN engine? Or can someone tell me that it's not possible? Because if that's the case, I wouldn't even need to try it.
Oder passt irgendein anderes? PD-TDI? AKN?

Thank you in advance!

"All the transmissions will fit the engine block. You can even use one from the 1.6L gasoline engine."
I think V8 engines are an exception.

The only differences are in the flexible couplings, gearbox mounts, and shift linkage.
You can, for example, take the DSE transmission from an A6.

Okay, then I would go with the AXR. Combined with the clutch and flywheel from the AEL, it should fit, right?

I haven't found the DSE yet... I might need to look again.

I haven't found any longer gears... The A4 has an extremely short axle ratio, but a long gear ratio :/

"Hey, what are you going to do with the gearboxes from those old Audi 100s? And then you're adding a 6-speed transmission?"
It doesn't quite fit. You should go one generation further than the 4B and 8D models. Or to the 3B Passat. The Audi 100 is a completely different platform!
