SDI Starter Motor - Replacement & Repair

Hello.
When marinizing my SDI 1.9 (year 2004), I have to mount the starter motor on the engine side, but the flywheel's starter ring gear is on the opposite side. However, the starter motor is now rotating in the wrong direction. I need a starter motor that rotates clockwise, and one that also fits the teeth of the starter ring gear.

Your Polo starter motor has the part number DB (L) 12V 2.0KW.
Looking for a DB (R) 12V 2.0KW starter motor compatible with a VW LT 2.5 TDI.
With 1.8 kW, the motor will definitely start, and it's a DB (R) 12V 1.8 kW model, which you can find in Audi A4 and A6 vehicles.
or in a VW Passat 1.9 TDI.
Did you manage to fix the fuel injection pump?

The pump was sent back to me because the mechanical parts don't fit into the SDI pump (the casing is too small). However, another company contacted me and said they can modify it for 500 euros. Let's see if it works out. And even if 10 people tell me it's not possible, I won't give up.

Hi Kopi.
I wouldn't worry *too* much about the fuel injection pump.
If I were in your position, I would install a standard mechanical Bosch VE injection pump in your car and then replace the plunger and high-pressure component.
Where is your cutter located?

My boat used to be a single hull. It was sawn in half lengthwise in Poland, separated by 1.5 meters, and then welded back together as a catamaran with a motor. It's currently located in Stargniß, near Ückeritz, on the island of Usedom. However, the fuel pump for the SDI engine is supposed to have a higher injection pressure, and I would really like everything to be original and match.
