Hello everyone,
I'm having a problem with my Seat Cordoba. First, the key wasn't being recognized by the central locking system, and the car kept stalling. I then used the other key. This worked for a while, but then that key also stopped being recognized, and the car kept stalling.
Then I took the other key again, and so on. Currently, neither of them is working properly anymore.
Is there a way to disable the immobilizer? I know that I might lose insurance coverage, and that you can't post instructions on how to do it here, but does anyone have a tip they could send me via private message?
The problem is that I can't afford the repair right now. I just had to pay for heating oil, and I'm broke, but I urgently need the car.
I would appreciate any advice.
Best regards,
Euro.

Okay, I don't think this is a major issue, but rather a problem with the reader ring in the lock. If the problem occurs again, try pressing down on the ignition switch, specifically on the plastic cover. In rare cases, this might help. Then, take the car to someone who can read the error codes.
Then it should be clear. This reading coil doesn't cost a fortune, and you'll have peace of mind.

Sure, I'll do it that way.
I might get back to you later if needed.

Euro.

It looks like there's a faulty reading coil! Don't waste your time trying to disable the WFS for hours; it's not that simple! It's not like the Bosch Blocktronik, which you could easily bypass.
If you don't have money for the reading coil, how can you afford to fill the tank? It won't run without fuel! NA,Gehörlose wie ich können auch Schrauben! Ihr HÖRT ich FÜHLE! @t3surfer
Unfortunately, this type of repair costs a pretty penny, at least at the authorized service center. The cost on the bill won't stop at just the coil. Fuel costs are probably unavoidable, but other costs can be avoided. It would be great if we could find a better alternative than "Can you fill up the tank?". Does anyone know exactly where this part is located in the Cordoba?

I'm not entirely sure where it's located in your model! Tip: Simply follow the cable from the reading coil; it should be somewhere under the steering wheel/instrument cluster. Trust me, you won't be able to bypass it, as it transmits data to the MSTG. NA,Gehörlose wie ich können auch Schrauben! Ihr HÖRT ich FÜHLE! The ignition coil is located near the ignition switch.

I don't actually want to bypass it, but it looks like it might be a loose connection. Thanks for the info, I'll see if I can locate it and check it visually. I lowered the steering wheel, and suddenly it started working again, which is why I suspect a broken wire or a loose connection.

If I'm not mistaken, the car still has a separate immobilizer control unit.
If that's the case (like with the Polo Classic), the problem lies in the connector to the control unit.
A few tries of taking it out and putting it back in, and the car starts again.
To do this, you only need to follow the cable from the reading coil. The control unit (if present in your model) is accessible from the fuse box. 3B5 AJM

To do this, you only need to follow the cable from the reading coil. | I can confirm this from my own experience, for a G3 gasoline engine belonging to a colleague.
After disconnecting both connectors (the coil connector and the connector on the circuit board), I noticed that a locking tab on one of the connectors was slightly bent away from the connector housing, as if the connection had never been fully locked from the factory.
After plugging and unplugging it a few times, I sprayed a little lubricating oil on each contact to preserve them, and my colleague hasn't had any more problems with the engine starting for several months (the last time she contacted me about it was approximately every week before). Gruß Ulf
