AYM V6 Overheating: 2.5L Engine Problems

Ich habe einen A6 Avant bj 02. MKB AYM.

My engine is overheating, but the radiator and the lower hose are staying cold.

This must be the thermostat.

If so, what is the effort involved in replacing it?

If it's the thermostat, then an experienced Audi mechanic will typically need about 5 hours to complete the repair.

I'm just back from the . It refers to either a Wapu or a thermostat. But it doesn't really make a difference, as the work involved is almost the same.
I still have 70,000 kilometers to go before I need to change the timing belt.

I put him in a pot of boiling water.
It doesn't open at all. Not even after 5 minutes.

The expansion is actually not a problem. You can take it out and put it back in without having to remove any belts. It's actually very easy.

It took me 1.5 hours to finish the interior work.

I also wanted to write something, but I thought you were going to handle everything.
The thermostat housing can be removed without having to remove any belts.
Simply push the timing belt slightly to the side with your finger, then the housing will come out, and you'll save yourself about 6 hours of work.

It's doable. Getting the parts in place was a bit fiddly for me. The important thing is to be quick when installing the service panel; I don't remove the fender liners, but instead, I take out the headlight on the left side and the air filter housing on the right side.
