Hello,
I am looking for possible causes of premature nozzle wear.
The case:
Skoda Superb, manufactured in 2005, with a V6 BDG engine.
Only 70,000 km.
Symptom:
Strong shaking while stationary.
Fixed:
Replaced worn camshafts (all 4).
--> No change.
Injectors checked and serviced at the Bosch service center.
All 6 have poor spray patterns.
I don't feel any pressure.
Pump checked --> OK.
Sure, here's the translation:
"Note:"
The vehicle had been standing for approximately 9 months before the purchase.
I would appreciate any suggestions for possible causes.
Regards,
Nick.

Simply put: bad fuel. Containing water and acidic components.
When overhauling fuel injectors, you can often tell exactly what kind of vehicles the people who owned them drove. Cold-pressed oil and "waste recycling/disposal" are particularly damaging to wear.
Best regards, Rainer.

Rainer, you're already getting all of this here (without your knowledge!) at numerous gas stations. There was once an article in the local press about a commissioned study that was supposed to show the percentage of "additives" in diesel fuel. The study examined 5-liter canisters of diesel fuel dispensed at 18 gas stations in the region. The canisters were brand new. However, the newspaper was not allowed to publish the exact results due to a cease and desist lawsuit ("ongoing legal proceedings") filed by two mineral oil dealers. They did mention, however, that not a single sample was found to be flawless by the commissioned laboratory. Contaminations were found from gasoline additives, solvents, plant oil, and consistently a higher water content than is permissible. The laboratory then added that while the tested diesel fuel was suitable for operating diesel engines, it could potentially cause damage in the long term, as the various contaminants found could significantly reduce the fuel's lubricating properties.

The former is also simply a matter of purity.
As Hutfahrer already mentioned, we also have gas stations where customers frequently experience problems with the fuel injection system. It starts with nozzles that leak, and ends with worn-out high-pressure pumps, where the injectors often fail as well.
I believe that many DPF problems are also caused by contaminants in the fuel. And it may be a consequence of a worn or carbon-fouled nozzle producing excessive soot, or of fuel containing too much ash due to illegal additives.

Hello,

It doesn't surprise me. Many years ago, I once refueled in Nuremberg, and after that, the transparent lines leading to the fuel injection pump became black on the inside. A significant amount of buildup has accumulated there.
What was noticeable was the black smoke that came out after I had filled up the tank there (the car had a turbo installed at the time, but otherwise wasn't excessively modified).
A few tankfuls of fuel later (of course, somewhere else), the hose slowly became clear again, and the engine started running normally.
Furthermore, one might not be surprised if the gasoline in a so-called 'flood zone' is unexpectedly cheap.
Best regards, Rainer.

Well, fuel is obviously the first thing that comes to mind for most people.
Thank you for your responses.
Are there any other common causes that can lead to this?
New development:
Out of the 6 new nozzles that were installed yesterday, only 3 are working properly now, while the other 4 already have a poor spray pattern. What's going on?
Unfortunately, I only have information from source number 2. Hand:

"...I had actually hoped that I could tell you today what the Bosch service found out, but then I received another call yesterday with my new favorite phrase: "Mr. XXX, there is a problem with your car."
According to the testing device, three out of the six reconditioned fuel injectors still exhibit poor spray patterns. Possible causes: defective new parts, incorrect assembly, or damage to the bracket (which has not been replaced).
Bosch is at a loss!
As I said, no errors can be detected in the VP.
Is anyone joining us?
Regards,
Nick.

Okay, in all the cases I'm familiar with, the injector holders have never been the problem. How about your diesel filter? Has that been replaced too? I would suggest changing it shortly before the injector replacement (but not at the same time, because if it doesn't start afterward, you won't know if it's the filter, the injectors, the ESP, or something else entirely...). That way, the injectors will definitely get verschandeln fuel.
If they're already useless again, then, in my opinion, it's a matter of Bosch's goodwill, especially if it was purchased on account.

There are also cheap imitations of these nozzles from "Ching-Chong Land," and they behave in the same way...

Ah, I misread. I thought he had bought the nozzles from Bosch and had them installed, which would have made it less likely. But in that case, it's definitely possible.

Yes, but of course, they are from Bosch.
This is all part of the same service visit.
The car is still there, apparently.
I'm usually open to budget-friendly options, but when it comes to nozzles, I wouldn't even consider going for the cheapest ones.
Regards,
Nick.

Did the camshafts sink into the body of your BDG engine with roller rocker arms?
Do you have any pictures?
That would be the first crawler crane that I know of where the side walls have collapsed.

So, it's definitely my BDG.
According to the Skoda workshop, the problem with the running-in process of the NWs (presumably referring to some component) has not been resolved by switching to RSH. They've experienced this before.
Unfortunately, I am unable to provide a more detailed statement on this matter.
I need to request the images from the owner of the BDG.
I think he even let them give him the old NWs.
I'm chiming in again about this...
Regards,
Nick.

I have the protocol from the jet engine test here.
Unfortunately, I don't really know what to do with this.
Can anyone comment on that?
Images of the NWs will follow soon...

Nick.

Could it be that you've attached the wrong file? It has nothing to do with a protocol.

Well, it made me suspicious too.
It looks like a few screenshots.
That's all he received from Bosch service.
I was hoping that maybe someone could find a use for these difference sets.
