Gearbox for LT/Sprinter models - compatibility guide (part number)

Hi,

I have a 1997 Land Rover here with a broken tooth in the gearbox. During an oil change, a whole tooth came out of the transmission.

Since the LT is a sprinter van with a TDI engine, the transmission is logically from Mercedes-Benz.

The Mercedes engine code is 711.614, and the designation is G28-5R.

Furthermore, the following is also indicated: Var. No./NA 017318/DDY 08 08 7.


My question is: which gearboxes are compatible with this vehicle? Or can I find the same one, or perhaps a slightly different one with a longer ratio, in a Sprinter? Or am I limited to using gearboxes from the LT model?

The engine is a 75 kW 2.5 R5 TDI.
