Will this work, or should I just give up on it because of the different protocols involved?

I have a 3C0 035 729 F spare.

Since the pre-facelift 1Z is almost identical to my G5, it shouldn't be a problem.
Now, I just need to "finish" by soldering the cables and installing the microphone and charging cradle.

Does anyone have any tips regarding wiring harnesses?

What is Martin asking us icon_question.gif?

I haven't looked at the SLPs, but if there are only a few wires inside, I would tend to use individual wires (the thickest ones used in the org-SLP, so probably a 0.5mm² wire for the FSE). Then, use appropriate crimp connectors, if they are available individually for the FSE, and if you have a crimping tool. Otherwise, you'll just have the repair cables with two connectors attached, and you'll have to solder them.

If many wires are running in the same direction (e.g., 10), a corresponding multi-core cable with, for example, 10 x 0.5 mm² is also a suitable option, provided you have something like that on hand.

Regardless of the variant, first ensure everything is the correct length, then wrap it with the VW felt adhesive tape to create the appropriate cable harnesses, and crimp the connections accordingly.

Was your question intended to achieve that?

Greetings to the gasoline driver icon_wink.gif,
Sure, here's the translation:

"Guste" is a German word that means "gust" or "gust of wind." It can also be used to describe a sudden burst of something, such as laughter or anger.

I've already checked on sites like Bucht and need4street to see if they have any ready-made kits available.

Actually, this component should only connect to the CAN bus, power, and the microphone.
I remember that plug as being "scarily multi-pin."

Is it perhaps also available individually from the factory?

?
So far, my friendly shop assistant has been able to find each connector individually for me.

I'll try to remember to ask him about it tomorrow morning and I'll write the number here afterwards. The logs will also be available tomorrow morning. If I forget, just ask again.

Good night.

Hello Martin,

Yes, 54 pins is a bit excessive...

4E0 972 144, approximately 2 euros.

Single-core cable 000 979 010 (with all possible terminations), 0.63mm.

Unfortunately, the 0.63mm contacts are not available individually as crimp contacts (If anyone knows a source for them, please let me know!).

Regards,
Hendrik.
