Noise from fuse box area.

'For some time now, when accelerating hard in my A4 2.5 TDI (located to the left of the steering wheel, behind the dashboard), I've been hearing a strange noise coming from the area of the fuse box. The sound is similar to what you hear when you hold a light switch in the position where the electrical contact is made, and the electricity becomes audible. It's definitely not a rattle or creak from plastic parts. Does anyone recognize these symptoms? What components are located in that area that could be the cause?'
