KDataScope cannot be executed

Hello diesel mechanics,

I have reinstalled KDataScope multiple times on my laptop, but it won't open. The splash screen of KDataScope briefly appears and then the program closes.

KDataScope and VCDS-GER work on my desktop computer, but only VCDS-GER works on my laptop (running Windows Vista), while KDataScope does not.

What else can be tried besides reinstalling?

Which specific version of Windows are you using? Ideally, please provide a Screenshot of the "System" dialog box in the Control Panel. Is your Vista installation up to date?
Try version 2.02 on the customer account.

I ran the KDatascope_202_GER.exe file, and after that, I was able to successfully start KDatascope.
I haven't started the `KDatascope_202_ENG.exe` file yet, and the previous English version of KDatascope still only flashes briefly when it is launched. This will likely change once `KDatascope_202_ENG.exe` is started.

My Windows Vista Home Premium from 2007 is fully updated.

Wenn ich die angehängte Log-Datei mit KDatascope öffne, sehe ich die Kurven, das funktioniert schonmal! Wenn ich aber in der Ansicht auf 3D-Map, oder Rohdaten wechsel, dauert es einen kurzen Augenblick und KDatascope ist vom Bildschirm verschwunden.
I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the version from my customer account in the store three times...
What can I do? What am I doing wrong?

It works perfectly for me. Which version of KDataScope and which build number are you using? Go to Menu -> Help -> About...

Which version of KDataScope was installed, the German or English one? And on which computer, with what operating system?

Is it possible that an antivirus program that's installed is malfunctioning or causing problems?

Unfortunately, I'm currently experiencing the same problem as the person who started this thread.
As soon as I try to start KdataScope, the program and its logo appear, but they disappear again after about 5 seconds.

Windows 7 SP2 (64-bit version) is installed.

Most likely a problem with an overzealous antivirus scanner.

Heute hatte ich an einem vermurkstem Rechner den Effekt, dass der Virenscanner im Outlook eine .csv Datei aus einem Zip löschte, da "virenbefallen" sei.

It's getting crazier and crazier with the Windows stuff and these antivirus scanners. The .csv file was a plain text file that I created myself on an embedded system, guaranteed to be free of viruses.

For now, just use Windows Defender and that's it.

Oh yes, and also check the scanner's log or the event log in Windows to see if they have been active.

The laptop has been completely reset and is free of any antivirus software.

You don't just replace the computers with new ones. This topic is starting to bore me. In every case of these problem computers, something hasn't been right in recent years.

Or the version is simply too old.

The version is still the most recent one, just like before...

The computer had to be reinstalled because a new hard drive was installed.
It was installed just like Windows 7 used to be. That's why I'm surprised that it's suddenly not working anymore.
Unfortunately, I'm not an IT expert, so that's why I'm asking here in the forum.

It's not about pirated copies, but rather whether other software on the computer is modifying the .exe file.
It's called a virus.
