Brake problem, ABS/ESP warning light on

"Hello, in my Audi A4 B6, the brake warning symbol comes on while driving, accompanied by three beeps. Then the symbol either illuminates or flashes, and then it turns off again on its own!"

Error memory is empty.

Could it be that the ABS unit or control module is defective?

As I mentioned, it happens while driving, and at various intervals; sometimes there's nothing for 10 minutes, then it starts happening constantly.

Check the brake fluid level and, if necessary, check the sensor for it.
Otherwise, the ABS control units often fail on the B6; I actually replaced one just last week.

1.) ABS-MIL (yellow) WITH brake system warning light (red).
2.) Only the brake warning indicator is illuminated (red).

The warning message for low brake fluid level can usually only be reset to normal in VW/Audi vehicles by turning the ignition off.

If it disappears again like that, it's more likely a defective control unit (ECU) that intermittently stops functioning. In that case, as Rainer already mentioned, there should be communication errors in other ECUs.

Possibly the brake pads are worn down, or maybe the wear indicator is malfunctioning.
