Hi everyone,

Due to the current heat, I had the idea to build a makeshift air conditioner using a car radiator. I would run the water from the well pump (around 8-10°C) through the radiator and then to the garden sprinkler. The radiator would be placed in the apartment and connected with hoses. Before the radiator, I would place a fan that would then blow the air through it. Under the cooler, a small basin is placed, which collects the condensation water.

The question that now arises for me is, how much overpressure can such an automotive radiator withstand. The pump produces approximately 3-5 bar. Not that the part will burst or leak.
Does anyone here know exactly, for example, what the pressure conditions are in the car at a coolant temperature of 120°C? He should be able to handle it.

Greetings

Eike

The idea is great http://home.t-online.de/home/bullitt667/smilies/data/uglyspitze.gif

I had a similar idea for my room, but instead of connecting the water directly to the boiler, I would have redirected it.

I believe that it will only withstand up to approximately 1 bar.
But if the garden sprinkler is connected at the end,
The pressure should definitely not exceed 1 bar.

'Therefore, the cooling system can be drained with a maximum pressure of 1 bar.'

if I still have it right in my head, the deck vent valves will close at 1 - 1.2 bar.

'I would definitely not give 5 bar to a cooler. Instead, I would prefer to use a feed pump with <= 1 bar and then run the pressure pump only after the cooler.'

btw: I like the idea, but unfortunately I don't have a well icon_sad.gif

See you, Gremlin

Hello Eike,

Still going off-topic, but I'll be back soon:

Take a condenser from an air conditioner; I have a condenser from a refrigerator in the attic. Fan and condensate collection are already included.

Greetings
