Hello everyone,
I purchased S-Line seats for my A4. Unfortunately, the passenger seat does not have an occupancy sensor, which is why the airbag warning light is illuminated.
Is there a way to disable the detection feature?
Best regards,
Tobias.

Hello Tobias,
Without knowing the exact part number (seat) and your vehicle's specifications (missing VIN) - I CANNOT provide a definitive answer.
For vehicle models, seat occupancy detection is not a component of the type approval process for vehicle registration and can therefore be coded. (Switch panel insert).
If the seat occupancy sensor is not working/malfunctioning, the seatbelt warning light should illuminate.
If the airbag light is on, it could be due to a problem with the side airbags.
If you set up a complete auto scan, we can more easily identify and resolve the problem.
Depending on your expectations for your work, there is also the possibility to retrofit an optimized seating arrangement. See TPI 2009748/8.
Part number: 8P4 963 553 B.
Best regards,
Michael.

Hey Michael,
Thank you for your feedback. Please find the log attached. Unfortunately, it always crashes, but it shows that the error is related to the airbag.
Best regards,
Tobi.

Hello Tobi,
The wiring is diagnostic-capable. You can either connect the seat occupancy sensor from the old seat or you must leave the installed test resistor in place.
Best regards,
Michael.

Hi Michael,
That means the occupancy detection cannot be disabled?
Best regards,
Tobi.
