I've reached the end of my knowledge and hope someone here can help me.
The following problem:
T5 van with 3.2 VR6 BKK engine.
Error P1340 - Incorrect crankshaft/camshaft correlation, intake.
The engine is running poorly at idle and sometimes even stalls.
Starting at 2000 RPM, it runs smoothly without any misfires or stutters.
What was done:
Timing chain, camshaft adjuster, solenoid valves, and camshaft position sensors replaced.
The error is still the same.
MWB 209-3 Intake/Exhaust Valve Offset - oscillates between 2.0 °KW.
MWB 208-3 Offset Intake - empty.
MWB 090-4 Exhaust Outlet - - 1.0 °KW
MWB 091-4 Intake Air Temperature -

4.5 °KW
If I plug the connector from the intake air mass sensor into the exhaust air mass sensor, the diagnostic tool MWB 208-3 also displays -1.0°KW, which means the signal from the intake air mass sensor is being received correctly by the engine control unit (ECU).
If the sensors are swapped with each other, nothing changes, which means the sensors are not the problem.
So far, I have only tested the solenoid valves using a 5W test lamp and the actuator test method.
Am I correct in assuming that the error is now caused by an intake manifold that was not properly adjusted?
The vehicle has an LPG system, but since the readings are good when the connector is plugged into the other sensor, the problem cannot be with the signal cable from the knock sensor.
Here are some other possible causes that come to mind for this problem:
- The channels in the engine block are clogged, and the adjuster is not receiving enough oil.
- The solenoid valve is being activated, but not correctly, and therefore it is opening too little or for too short a time.
- The MSG is defective.
- The oil pressure in the engine is too low.
I checked the valve timing a thousand times before assembling everything. The ruler, arrows on the adjustment knobs, and marking on the timing chain all matched perfectly.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
