Hi,
When a car has 280,000 kilometers on the odometer (like my father's Audi 80 TDI 1z), then strange things start to break down.
- Recently, I replaced the head gasket and then discovered that two core plugs were in the trash

(which I have already mentioned).
- The car has never really had any major problems. However, it was strange that the ribbed belt, including the tensioner pulley, was constantly failing. My newly installed ribbed belt and tensioner pulley failed after only 5000 km on a trip (I wasn't there, of course

). After that, my father went to the dealership. They then discovered that the aluminum guide that directs the rotating axis of the tensioner pulley was completely worn out. As a result, the entire console was replaced... don't even ask how much it cost... 600 euros -> they must be making a killing on that

.
