Hello everyone!
"For some time now, the rear windshield washer nozzle on my A3 has been spinning."
Something must be stuck.
Hopefully, the rear wiper will soon be completely phased out, as happened with Raoner.
/viewtopic.php?t=1488
Normally, the windshield washer nozzle stays fixed, and only the wiper shaft rotates. Today, I tried turning the windshield washer nozzle, and to my surprise, it does rotate, although it's very stiff.
After a firm grip, I had the entire nozzle, along with the small piece of pipe, in my hand. However, the situation didn't seem unusual to me, as the broken end of the pipe attached to the nozzle didn't show a typical fracture surface.
"Does anyone know how to repair this affordably, before the electronics of the wiper motor completely fail?"

'On my Golf IV (AHF) from 4/98, the injector also rotated. I then completely disassembled the engine and discovered that the thin tube where the plastic injector sits, located at the bottom of the engine block, had broken off. Since this is an aluminum casting, it's not easy to repair. Without the proper tools, I bought a new engine from VW for 78 euros.'
However, there was someone in this forum who had once posted a repair manual.

"I also experienced this issue with a Golf IV. The wiper arm is attached to a spindle, which has a hole where a brass tube is inserted. This brass tube is normally fixed in place, while the wiper spindle rotates around it. Over time, the brass tube corrodes and becomes stuck to the wiper spindle, eventually causing it to rotate along with the spindle. Because the brass tube is held in place at its base (where the water hose is connected), it can even twist and become damaged internally (which is what happened to mine)."
It was definitely impossible to remove it from the axle any other way - except with a drill.
From my point of view, that's a design flaw.
I then drilled out the axle and inserted a new brass tube from a model-making supply store, as there are no replacement parts available from VW.
I glued it into the plastic base. Important: Before attaching the nozzle to the end of the tube, a suitable O-ring must be placed. Also, I applied a generous amount of grease between the wiper shaft and the tube.
The repaired engine lasted for 2 years, after which the adhesive started to leak. Therefore, I can only conditionally recommend this method. In the meantime, I bought a new one from VW, which is made by a different manufacturer - let's see how long this one lasts... --------------------------------------------

Again, I would recommend, despite the supposedly "simple" cars, to go around the car with a can of oil about twice a year and, among other things, lubricate the wiper arm axes and pivot joints.
A drop of oil in the gap between the axle tube and the nozzle on the rear wiper, I believe, will prevent this kind of problem 100% of the time. Gruß Ulf
