hello
"For the past two days, sometimes when I release the gas pedal and then press it again, the car doesn't accelerate. If I release the pedal again and then press it, everything goes back to normal! This happened to me three times yesterday and also once today."
I then went to Volkswagen, and there were no error messages to be found.
Could it simply be hanging on the gaspoti?
Otherwise, it functions normally and starts up normally.
So, if you've already experienced the same problem, I'd like to hear about your experiences.
Best regards,
stef

Okay, if it were the gas pedal, there should be an entry in the memory. What has already been checked? Does the EGR valve work correctly? Is the intercooler system okay? Is the diesel filter okay? Is there air in the fuel system?
There could be many reasons why you're experiencing this issue. It's best to proceed systematically. A gas pedal sensor can be easily checked with VAG COM (load from 0-100%). While the error description is understandable, the diagnosis is difficult, and you have to admit that.
Okay, so look for the potential error sources mentioned and try to get access to a VAG COM diagnostic tool, especially for "older" cars, as it can be very helpful. It really helps to identify the problems and therefore saves time and money in the long run!
Matthias.

@stef
Engine code? IF 1Z THEN check the crankshaft bolt.
Best regards, WarLord.

hello
Thank you everyone for your opinions.
Okay, so the engine is an AHU with 200,000 kilometers on the clock. It has always been maintained in a garage.
Last maintenance was 8000 km ago.
I drove 1500 km this weekend.
The car runs great, has good acceleration, and there's no lack of power.
"It only happens occasionally, when I'm driving and suddenly the accelerator pedal stops responding. Then, when I try to press the pedal again, it doesn't do anything. Although I can move the pedal, the engine stays at 900 RPM."
"And as soon as you release them again, everything is okay. It gets worse when going downhill, but it rarely happens when going downhill. It can also sometimes happen in first gear when starting, sometimes there's a bump, you release the pedal, and that's it."
funny, no?
Sometimes I hear a click from the pedal.
So, what would you recommend?
Unfortunately, I don't have a VAG-COM diagnostic tool, nor do I have access to one. I can try fitting some parts from a T4 TDI onto my car. What would you do?
Best regards,
stef

hello
I don't know, I need to take a closer look at it tomorrow. Where is this potentiometer actually installed?
Should it be next to the pedal, or further under the hood?

It should be mounted on the splash panel in the footwell area.

hello
After a 1500 km journey, the error appeared sporadically, but it disappeared the day after the trip.
"But now the car has become a bit slower when accelerating, it doesn't go up the hills as quickly anymore, and it's producing a bit more smoke."
I think it has something to do with the AGR.
Before the problem occurred, I sped onto the highway for half an hour. Since she got a large speeding ticket, my wife has been driving like an old lady, so something must have happened in the meantime.
What do you think about it?
