Hello everyone!
I wanted to provide some feedback regarding my nozzle replacement.
My AAT is a 1st generation model (no GRA compatibility, manufactured in 1/94) with 200,000 km on the odometer.
I actually intended to install the nozzles from the 3rd generation AAT, which I purchased for €230 (new). However, the company sent me 4 AEL nozzles and 1 NHG nozzle with an AAT nozzle. I briefly inquired with the company about this >> We have been using nozzles with different end letters for years (nozzle mix!)
Well, I'm not using a jet mix, so I'm going to Bosch service and ordering a new AEL nozzle (DSLA 150 P 502 >> 43€). It arrived today and was immediately installed in the AAT nozzle holder.
The result: With a standard chip and AEL nozzles, the performance is brutal, but so are the soot clouds in the rearview mirror!
I adjusted the chip myself >> reduced the pump voltage in the middle/high RPM range, and now the engine runs with a bit more bite than before, just with the chip and the original nozzles (although with less visible soot emissions!).
Regarding the noise in the lower gears >> I don't think it has changed!
I will monitor the fuel consumption and report back.
The only trick: I encountered the only difference between AAT Nozzle 1st Gen. and AAT Nozzle 3rd Gen. during installation >> It's the nozzle holder, the recesses for the clamping strap are slightly higher than in the old ones, so the clamping straps from the AAT/AEL 3rd Gen. can be mounted and used immediately.
Edit: It's not the clamping strap that's different, but the round bearing blocks and the threaded rods are higher (all 5 bearing blocks for 18€, the threaded rods are made myself as they are not available as spare parts

).
Conclusion: The nozzles of the 1st and 3rd generations have the same nozzle holder (DSLA 150 P 280-), but only the nozzles of the 3rd generation have a different nozzle holder (AAT and AEL have the same nozzle holder).
Yes, I tried to provoke a jerk/oscillation at high speeds with low RPM >> It doesn't jerk, no matter what you do.
Well, that's what I wanted to get off my chest!
Best regards,
Andi
