strictly speaking:

2x Passat (as stated above) offers plenty of horsepower, and (three A's, one P, two S's... in stock).

The Octavia RS is certainly a performance competitor (same engine but lighter), but when you look at the features, I've come to appreciate a lot of things about the Passat that you simply can't get on the RS, even if you paid extra.

You're absolutely right about that. That also explains why my Vectra is performing so poorly; I'm getting 9.83 kg/PS. Oh dear, I guess I need to remove the dog box and the spare tire .
Perhaps "dieselmartin" could use VCDS (VagCom) and Rainer's plugin to reproduce this issue.

Yes, that's true about the features. That's why I ended up with a Vectra instead of an Octavia; I wouldn't want to miss the adaptive front lighting (AFL) system.

My Golf was already 7.5 years old when someone stole the TDI letters from it. I then cleaned and polished everything. I didn't notice any difference in the paint. You can't tell that anything was ever there. My Golf is metallic blue (dark blue).

My G3 took it badly.

After 6.5 years, a stubborn stain remained, despite all attempts to polish it away.

However, one variant gets dirtier on the rear, and the previous owner's wife apparently wasn't very keen on washing the car .
