I removed the fonts "PASSAT" and "2.0".
- Using a thin thread, carefully cut through the foam pads located between the paint and the chrome emblem.
- The Passat pads could then be easily peeled off the paint because they are extremely elastic and durable. Once loosened at one corner, they could almost be peeled off in one piece.
- The 2.0 pads stuck like crazy, and it was a constant struggle to remove them.
- Then, everything was cleaned of any adhesive residue using turpentine.
(Now I would have said that you can still see the outlines.)
- Everything was washed again with water used for cleaning.
- polished with hard wax polish.

From a normal distance, nothing is recognizable anymore. Macro shots follow...

Only the TDI is now very far to the right, abandoned and alone.

Possibly, it might also be removed later... and then changed to "PASSAT" in dark chrome, which would then be converted to "PS SATT" .

That's really a good idea: PS SATT .

I made a mistake.

You can't see anything of the distant symbols.

What's noticeable is the clear difference between the "simply washed" sections of the tailgate and the polished areas. (I had only just polished the areas where the symbols were located).

That is a clear message .

It really looks lost in the massive rear .

However, I would avoid the "PS SATT" option. With 170 horsepower, you're really just in the middle of the pack these days.
What interests me, and also surprised me, when I read the data sheet from VW for the 170 hp TDI engine is that it supposedly only takes 8.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. That seems a bit low to me, considering a curb weight of 1512 kg. While the 350 Nm of torque is available from 1750 rpm, it's still a bit surprising.
