Hi, is it possible with an Audi A4?
"Is it possible to extend the preheating time on the MKB BRD? I've noticed that if I preheat for a slightly longer time than what the LED indicates, it starts up much better, especially in cold temperatures."
Best regards,

Hello,
"Theoretically" it should be simple to fix, but it's possible that the coolant temperature sensor is just slightly off.
Perhaps check measurement block 7 in a cold state using VCDS.
Best regards, Rainer.

Or disconnect the key after the filament in the bulb has burned out.
Should you keep the object in its current position before starting?
I noticed something with my AKE (presumably a device with a voltage display): after the display turns off...
The display is working normally and is still illuminated.
You could check the glow plug status or the voltage reading using VCDS.
I'm almost certain that yours will glow for the same amount of time before you start it.

The glow plug light, it's just working normally.  Pretty much every TDI does that, even my old ACV. }

There is a lookup table for the preheating time, where you can make changes. Any skilled chip tuner can do it.

Hi, under the adaptation channels, there's an entry called "Coolant temperature adjustment," which defaults to 128. I can't change this value; I immediately get an "Error," probably because a login is required. If you click on the value, a help bubble appears that says "Preheating time as a function of coolant temperature." Does anyone have a login to change these values? Should the value be increased or decreased to make the glow plug stay on longer?
Best regards.
Tom.

Hi Rainer,
No, the login screen is not displayed, see the Screenshot. The instructions are based on EDC 15, not EDC 16, right? ... Do you happen to have that [EDC 15] available?
Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

Hi, I just went downstairs to the garage and tried both login codes. Unfortunately, neither of them was accepted. Is there possibly another code available?
"I went skiing this weekend, and my Audi was parked outside for two days in temperatures ranging from -15 to -25 degrees Celsius. When I tried to start it today, despite having new glow plugs and a new battery installed last week, it only started after about 10 seconds of cranking on 3 cylinders, and then it stalled after about 3 seconds. I tried pre-heating it again twice (the glow plugs were on for a maximum of 3 seconds, like the first time). The engine still only started on 3 cylinders, but then the fourth cylinder started working after about 3 seconds. However, it took almost 20-30 seconds for the engine to run smoothly and for it to respond to the accelerator. What's also strange is that I currently have -6 degrees Celsius in my garage, and the car has been in there for at least 6 hours. VCDS still shows a coolant temperature of 24 degrees Celsius. I've decided to install a new coolant temperature sensor tomorrow. Hopefully, that will fix the problem."
"Could someone possibly tell me where the glow plug relay is located? On the 1.9L TDI, it was always mounted on the rear right side, near the driver. I haven't been able to find it there on this 2.0L TDI."

You must have already entered your login information, otherwise the corresponding configuration channel wouldn't be editable!
The "Login" section should logically be found under "Login" or "Security Access," and NOT under "Customization."
The fact that the preheating time is always displayed as 0s during the adjustment process is due to an incorrect temperature reading from the sensor, because at 24°C, preheating is not actually necessary.
Certainly not in the sense that the filament displays a pre-glow for x seconds.
Check the temperature reading and, if the value is incorrect, purchase a new sensor.
Then it will also work with the glowing.
Best regards, Rainer.

MFG |
It is located on the front side, facing the engine and the firewall, below the diesel fuel injection pump, and attached to the coolant flange at the bottom.
