Sure, here are two different versions of the translation:

**Version 1 (More formal):**

"Please provide two distinct options."

**Version 2 (More casual):**

"Give me two different choices."
Once with the linked spanner (provided in the link), and once with a thin open-end wrench; I don't remember the exact size offhand. I even made that wrench myself, just like Steffen did.

Hello everyone!

"I replaced the free wheel a few years ago on my Golf (engine code AHF), and if I remember correctly, it had a left-hand thread!"

It's worth a try.

Best regards, Erwin (TDI).

Hello,

The freewheel has a right-hand thread. To open it, you turn the Torx screw on the shaft clockwise (as if it were a left-hand thread), and the multi-tooth spline on the freewheel counterclockwise. A workshop completed this for me and pointed out that, after 340,000 km, the freewheel cannot be easily unscrewed without specialized hand tools.

By the way, the Passat is running smoothly again, like a kitten. Interestingly, the timing of the old belt was still perfectly accurate. This wasn't the case during the previous replacement (see at the beginning of this discussion). In my opinion, this wasn't due to the belt stretching, but rather to negligence on the part of the previous workshop.

There were still a few minor issues: The viscous fan can only be held in place with an Allen key. I tightened the Allen screw again while the ribbed belt was installed. To balance the forced-air viscous fan, I followed Rainer's advice and simply broke off the teeth on the opposite side icon_smile_thumb_up.gif.

Es It didn't look like that."It feels like the old belt might fail soon. The material is actually quite durable (I can confirm this from my bicycle with a belt drive, which I've used daily for 7 years)."

Regarding the coolant: After filling the coolant, one should ideally bleed the system at the cylinder head outlet (by pushing the hose back to the venting hole). However, the hydrodynamics are usually well-suited for self-bleeding processes. This takes a few weeks and is noticeable by bubbling in the heating radiator. That's how I handled it last time as well. Under pressure, any gas will eventually dissolve sooner or later icon_twisted.gif ...
