Has anyone experienced the phenomenon where, when accelerating more forcefully, the speedometer needle goes to zero, and then returns to the original speed when you release the gas pedal icon_question.gif?

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to read the error codes yet.

The motor is running normally, with no error messages or similar issues.

The first time, I thought I was just hearing things, but now it's happening more and more often.

Vehicle: Volkswagen Passat, 1.9 TDI engine (1Z), manufactured in 1995, 66 kW.

Thank you.

Burli.

Please check the speed sensor on the transmission, as well as its connector and wiring.

Hi Gremlin,

I've also considered the donor, but why only when accelerating more strongly? It's not noticeable in gentle mode.

If the cable has a loose connection that only causes it to go "open" when there's "force pulling back" (i.e., when accelerating), then you'll experience this effect.

Unlikely, but unfortunately not entirely impossible.

'Where exactly is the sensor located on the transmission? I think it's an inductive sensor, or?'
