Okay, so my 35i also has two shock absorbers, just like our AAZ Golf. The 3B Variant also used to have two. The same goes for the Vento.
Only the T3 JX has just one.
In my opinion, the catalytic converter is basically useless anyway. I've removed it from several cars, either by cutting it out and welding a pipe in its place, or by simply leaving the rear silencer, and none of them became louder as a result. (Except for the ones where I also modified the rear silencer, but that was a separate issue).

Hello everyone,
I haven't read everything, but here's a picture of what's under my car.
'Get everything: KAT, MSD, and ideally also ESD - it noticeably increases performance!'
Regards,
DJ.
PS: I currently have Supersprint parts installed, but forget about that junk - it doesn't fit properly (see pictures), and the downpipe is also top-quality garbage.
I'm having a complete exhaust system (70 mm) custom-made.

Hi,
Are there also data available that demonstrate more performance (dyno test, KPower, DZR time)?
Is the engine tuned? If so, to what maximum power output?

Hi,
The engine has approximately 160 horsepower (estimated).
According to the dynamometer test, it produced 156.4 horsepower (with the original exhaust system).
I'm planning to go back soon, as they've added a large catalytic converter and a large exhaust system.
Regards,
DJ.

So, the engine is not standard equipment.
That settles the matter; there's no need for further discussion.
No one has denied that making the appropriate modifications to the engine (like with the Dj1) can make a significant difference.

Oh, were you talking about an original engine?
Hmm, okay, I didn't know that.

DJ.

Here's a snippet from a brief description of the upgrade from the ASZ to the BPX engine in the Ibiza (key figures: 310 -> 330 Nm, 130 -> 160 PS = a 23% increase).
I no longer remember the source , I copied the text from an online automotive magazine into a .doc file, but I didn't save the link.
They state, roughly, that in the course of the overall optimization, the back pressure of the BPX exhaust system was also reduced .
Der Teilekatalog sagt dazu aus: ab Turbinenausgang ist über Oxikat und Zwischenrohr (also kein MSD) bis zum ESD alles gleich, einschl. Exhaust tip holder.
Only the actual muffler has a different part number, but this could be due to the recently chrome-plated Cupra exhaust tip (meaning it might have the same internal components as the ASZ muffler).
Given the posts here, I'm guessing that the exhaust pipe is really the only change, and that the back pressure reduction is a myth (unless the turbocharger itself is being considered). Or could the straight-through single pipe, compared to the usual downward-angled dual pipes, actually provide a noticeable reduction in back pressure?
BTW, an update regarding the removal of the mandatory security deposit at ASZ-Ibiza:
Initially, as mentioned above, there were two different types of exhaust mufflers available: one for the older cars with MSD (Multiple Spark Discharge), and one for the newer cars without MSD.
The "MSD-equipped" exhaust muffler has now been discontinued from the product range, and the replacement muffler for vehicles without MSD is now available.
Can we conclude from this that both exhaust systems have the same back pressure characteristics, or that older cars with MSD simply experience a slight decrease in performance when the exhaust system is replaced, because the overall back pressure increases?
Gruß Ulf
