*Brrr* *Shiver* It's freezing to work there... I would put a hairdryer or an electric fan next to me... By the way, what are those TWO FUEL FILTERS on the supply and RETURN LINES ? Are they for checking air bubbles? Or is it to prevent the VP44 from failing?
Ahhh, I see the soldering iron on the right; is that your hand warmer?

Wow, you have X-ray vision!
So, the reason I got sent home (Difi's) is because, ultimately, I had another breathing problem four days before.
I've already replaced the third filter within 10,000 km, as well as some other parts like a "Knackfrosch" and who-knows-what-else.
Now the filter hoses are being installed, and they cost a measly 140 euros.
That's about all I can do; I'm at my wit's end.
The soldering iron helped me to remove the bracket from the Viscolüfter .
The heat exchanger is one of approximately one hundred heat exchangers that are inside the Allroad.
He goes from the cold water circuit with its own cooler, to an additional transmission cooler and an additional air conditioning cooler, all the way to a fuel cooler .
I definitely need something like that in this weather.
I think I'd rather short-circuit it in the winter.
The fuel from the ESP (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system isn't actually that warm.
And finally, the 5.2 kW standing heater.
It's really fun to use, especially since I upgraded it from a Telestart T60 to a T90 and connected it with VAG-COM.
It's diagnosable, which is very convenient because troubleshooting auxiliary heaters usually feels like looking into a crystal ball.
The Alli also has everything you need, such as front and rear heated seats.
RNS-E navigation system with DVD player + DVB-T TV tuner, telematics emergency call system, etc.
BUT: Where there's a lot, a lot can also break.

140 EUROS for hoses? Are they made of high-quality silicone?
Air problem: Are the return hoses of the ESC already new? Possibly the ESP air sensor is leaking if it's still original.

Okay, I understand. Hopefully, you didn't overcook the stew. It might be leaking. Summer can get hot!

I don't need that much luxury. If there's something available, I don't need a dedicated seat.
Unfortunately, a lot of it is lost or damaged.

I'm also having an air problem. I've even installed transparent hoses into the oil return lines to try and see if there's any air getting in. The air bubbles are only present on the passenger side. After the filter was replaced last week because it was frozen at -10°C, the issue seems to be less frequent. I also don't fully trust the pump itself.
Does anyone know if the "Knackfrosch" (presumably a type of engine component) vents air through a bypass, or does it recirculate that air when the engine is cold?

What I have already tried .
So, the symptoms are as follows:
Air in the inlet hose from the filter to the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter).
If I short-circuit the return line by attaching a universal filter and sealing the T-connector by connecting both ends with a piece of hose...
Then, the pre-charge hose begins to gradually fill with air.
I can therefore rule out leakage cables.
First comes foam, then progressively larger bubbles.
"Filter" and "Knackfrosch" are new.
If I put a universal filter into the inlet line...
"There are no bubbles. I can't even create them using artificial vacuum by pressing the tube in front of the filter."
Only with the original filter.
I strongly suspect the hose connecting the filter to the ESP (Electronic Stability Program).
This is a two-layer construction, consisting of a fabric hose with an inner rubber lining.
I can imagine that air is being drawn in through the material and then entering the pipe at the compressed point.
I wouldn't mind paying 140 euros for 50 cm of rubber hose.
If that were all there was to it.

Hello,
"I also bought the two hoses for the ESP back then, which cost €70, but the problem with the bad air was still there."
That experience cost me almost €300.
It wasn't until I installed the Mahle filter that things finally became quiet.
The O-ring is also much more robust than the one found on the original filter, which was made in China.
Okay, one more question about the freewheel on the Lima: What's the point of having a freewheel if the clutch engages when starting the engine?
I think that when the engine is switched off and comes to a sudden stop, there's also a significant impact from the alternator because the rotor movement is abruptly stopped.
In free-running mode, the clutch is disengaged.

I think I also paid around €70 for my hoses. The end near the diesel filter was deformed and not flexible.
Looking at the photo, the pulley on the alternator also appears to be a solid one. The ones with a freewheel mechanism are more bulky and have an Allen key socket instead of a hexagonal screw.

Does that mean you would also recommend replacing the hoses?
The reason why air might not be flowing through the UniFilter compared to the original filter could be because I had to attach a piece of hose to the UniFilter so that the 12mm hoses from the Allroad would fit, and this hose now sits much tighter on the UniFilter than it did on the original.
I just had an idea... I'm going to try and shrink-wrap one or two heat shrink tubes onto the diffi.
It doesn't help anything, it doesn't hurt anything .
I specifically adjusted the order of the limes by hand because I wanted to make sure they wouldn't be next in line.
Can any of you owners of the 2.5 V6 TDI engines tell me if your engine shakes when you turn it off?
Because, actually, it has a bypass valve that works.
The 1.9 TDI engines with a diverter valve handle that better.

Yes, bubbles immediately formed when I touched them.
Coincidentally, I also had a bubble in the hose just now; the car is facing uphill, otherwise it would be going downhill.
I would really like to install a pre-lift pump sometime.
If the connection between the "Knackfrosch" and the Difi unit isn't airtight, your setup with the "Knackfrosch" and hose won't work properly. You already have enough filters, so I would suggest sealing the "Knackfrosch" pipe fitting in some other way.
My car doesn't shake while it's doing that.

Based on my feelings, visually, and according to the error codes, that's what they are.
During the ride, the engine doesn't produce any unusual vibrations.

I've also locked other things with it before .
In addition to the issue observed with the three different filters, it also occurred with two African clawed frogs.
Always the same.
He's also very strict about it; that "Knackfrosch" is a real stickler for the rules.

So, I kicked mine out back then.
One of them already had oil leaks that were reddish-brown in color.
I experienced vibrations while the car was stationary and also noticeable in the steering wheel.
He was completely out of it after the change.

I tackled the air quality issue this weekend.
Two extra-large heat shrink tubes were pulled over the supply line.
Then tighten with two rounded clamps.
Airwatch is gone .
I'm just glad I managed to save 140 euros.
I will equip all four hoses with two clamps each.
as well as carry an emergency kit with my two universal filters .
I just hope that the 1000 km driven with the Uni filters didn't cause any damage.

Here's a picture of the diesel filter. Please note the air vent on the intake pipe.
There was also a relatively large amount of dirt in the fabric. Unfortunately, I immediately discarded the liquid instead of putting a magnet in it overnight.
