Interesting topic! Topic: Lifetime filling, Definition question: What is "Lifetime"?

Okay, I'll do it – DEFINITELY. For example, in the Volvo workshop manuals from 1997, there was a note recommending that it be replaced every 105,000 km. The transmissions are often still the same today, but there is NOTHING about this anymore in the current documentation.
They don't actually want it to be changed. I had an interesting conversation once when I was trying to buy transmission fluid from a Volvo dealer – he said it wasn't in stock. I asked him if they ever replaced the clutch, and he replied that they just put the old one back in.

Besides that, so many people are driving cars with over 300,000 kilometers on the odometer and using old oil.

Statement from the workshop foreman: "TODAY, the oils are so good that they can handle it."

With each oil change, I realize that it was worth buying 2 liters of oil. The effort involved is extremely low, for example, as part of a regular service - and the 2 liters of oil cost nothing, so I don't really think much about whether it makes sense (or doesn't).
"This weekend, while I was replacing the clutch, I drained and collected the transmission oil – I reused it because it was only 5,000 km old. It ended up being almost more trouble and fiddling around than just putting in new oil."

I agree with that perspective on automatic transmissions – I tend to prefer manual transmissions (if I have the option, I usually choose a manual).
