Hi
The G5 with navigation and FSE has this ugly combination of a 90s-style 16-V antenna (long stick) and a shark fin.
The slightly older Sharan has a round GPS antenna with a short radio cable: 7M0 035 849 E
Can the Sharan route be attached to the G5?

The special thing about this Sauschirechen Golf V antenna is that it is one of the few GPS antennas with radio reception. Blue = GPS, purple = GSM, white = Radio.
If the connectors from the Sharan antenna are still from the older generation, you can connect them using an adapter.
If I could see a picture of the Sharan antenna, or if the year of the car was known, it would be easier to say whether it fits or not.
However, I would rather mount the shark fin and separately place the radio antenna in the rear bumper or rear window. |

Actually, I just want to swap the "rods". So, what you can/need to remove from the car wash.

Can I report on the Golf IV antenna? With GPS, it's an M5 without an M6 thread...or was it the other way around...? (The Golf IV GPS antenna also has radio, phone, and GPS) The radio antenna, however, only has radio. That doesn't seem to fit... and if someone stole your antenna while you were out, maybe you should look for a new one with GPS. **grummel** |

Okay, just the antenna.
In auto parts stores, such as ATU, you can find antenna masts for around €15 that have 2 different sized screws, allowing you to attach the antenna mast to all common VAG vehicles. |

But please, don't use something like an aluminum rod.

Yes, the good ATU antennas...then it looks pretty complete, but the reception is no longer there...so it's not very useful |

There is also a shorter version of the "long" route. For example, I'm working on the new Polo. Golf 7 GTI |

Have you seen ?
Even though it's still too long for me.
6R0 035 849 ... I'm coming
or perhaps
6R0 035 849 A ??? (Damn...)
I also know that my desire for a short route is in direct contrast to the reception. But with an MP3 CD drive, you don't need as much radio.

Hi,
Regarding/Concerning Threaded long pole: In Italy, someone else liked my antenna...
The attempt to use a Lupo, G V+, or A3 (old) failed due to the M5. My 3BG with FSE, without GPS, required M6. Using the A**-solution (long Rute with adapter) with the best reception. Visually, it still felt like a lot of tinkering. But I hate weak radio and phone reception, and I love the high-quality sound from my Blaupunkt Casablanca 56 CD-MP3 player, with USB and SD card support.

What exactly is good about the MFD? I haven't discovered this yet.
Yes, the radio reception is okay... calculating routes takes seemingly until just before the destination, changes to the route: No problem: "Please turn".... mmm, what's left, ah yes, every country on a CD, Germany for example on two...
If the Dutch car dealer hadn't given me that price due to his initial mistake regarding the then-current Gamma price, he could have directly expanded his business. |

OK, you can't have everything. However, I think it's quite good for his age. Don't forget that it has been around since 1997 (although not the German version, but still). MfG. Michael

By "equivalent," we mean certainly not 16V aluminum CNC parts, but something that is equivalent to the original |

What do you need? An original-looking stick with reasonable reception and shortened length?!
If you have an M5 thread, then go to your friendly OPEL dealer and get some advice! Opel had shortened antenna masts with the original appearance and good radio reception, starting with the Vectra-C, Combo, and partially the Corsa-C, etc.
I have, because it also fits, installed such an antenna on my Peugeot. No other radio reception compared to the original antenna, the shorter design is also not immediately noticeable. Automobile Zeitzeugen: |SUZUKI Swift Sport (2008)| |Smart 450 (2002)| |Kymco Heroism 125 (1997)| |
