Creaking Noise: Causes and Solutions

I've recently started hearing a creaking noise when braking and turning left.
I initially suspected the wheel bearing, so I tightened the wheel hub slightly.
I had my car specialist check it out, and he said "definitely not the wheel bearings."
The noise only occurs when braking. If I turn into the curve normally,
I don't hear anything.

Maybe you have an idea.

Recently, there have been isolated cases of front suspension spring breakage in the Golf IV / Bora.

In this process, the uppermost, tapered part of the spring breaks off. The feather then rests directly on the upper dome of the spring strut. When disassembling, extreme caution is required.
The spring must be secured with a clamp before removing the shock absorber.
