Hi.
Ein Freund von mir möchte bei seinem Peugeot seinen Airbag testen weil eben ein??? There is an error.
No, I'm not touching that!
However, while searching, I came across some key points that I would like to clarify for myself.

A workshop will not use an ohmmeter to measure the airbag itself, but rather connect a resistor in place of the airbag to measure the wiring.

Question 1.
Is this resistance the same across different car brands, and does it only differ in the shape of the connector?
Or is the plug standardized?

Question 2.
Can an airbag be measured directly, even if not with a standard multimeter?

If you simulate a working airbag using a resistor, and the airbag turns out to be the source of the error, what is broken?
Just the contacts?
Best regards, Frank.

The airbag. icon_cool.gif So, igniters, cables, or connector plugs.

I don't want to be a spoilsport, but either:

1. You have the authorization to tinker with these systems: Then you should be able to answer these questions with ease. If not, you need to go back for further training immediately!

or

2. You are not authorized to tamper with such systems: In that case, you don't even need to know about them, because you wouldn't be able to do anything with that knowledge anyway. icon_wink.gif

Please don't misunderstand, but an airbag is definitely not a toy!
Therefore, I don't think it would be particularly helpful to provide specific data here. A talented amateur mechanic might think, "Now I have the information of an expert and can fix this myself," and then the whole thing could go horribly wrong.
Something like that doesn't have to happen, so I'm ending this here. Please don't take it personally; it's just for the protection of life and limb. icon_wink.gif

Exactly... or a widened connector between the airbag and the spiral coil, or the connector itself.
so that it doesn't necessarily always mean that the airbag is defective.
