Hello.

I'm new to this forum and would like to briefly introduce myself. I'll do that right here in this post, as I couldn't find a separate introduction section.

I'm from Switzerland, and we have three vehicles from the Volkswagen Group at our home.

Audi A6 4F facelift Avant 3.0 TDI V6 + automatic transmission: CDYA engine (239 hp) with approximately 120,000 km.
Audi Q3 8U 2.0 TDI + S-Tronic: CFGC (177 hp) with approximately 50,000 km.
VW Tiguan 5N Facelift 2.0 TDI + DSG: CFFB (140 hp) with approximately 115,000 km.

The Q3 and the Tiguan have received the software update (related to the "Dieselgate" scandal). Since then, both vehicles have been behaving strangely. The Tiguan is making a lot of noise and jerking, especially under partial load, for example, when driving at 60 in 6th gear. Also, the Tiguan feels very sluggish up to about 120 km/h; it barely has any power.

The Q3 doesn't make any noticeable knocking sounds, but it vibrates exactly the same way.

Both vehicles had already been to the dealership, but they told me that everything was fine because the error memory was empty icon_smile_thumb_up.gif.

I ordered the HEX-V2 last week, and it should arrive tomorrow. Can I use it to check certain things myself and then present the results to the dealer? Specifically, can I read and record data blocks?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

If the world were that simple, we could turn off our brains icon_smile_thumb_up.gif.

Hindsight is always difficult because you can no longer draw comparisons. The dealer should have some experience and knowledge about suspicious behavior.

However, from his response, I conclude that he is not interested in dealing with this matter. I would seek advice from another dealer who might be willing to engage with the corporation.
Viele Grüße
Andreas

Sure, that's possible, but it naturally requires the willingness to look into it - I doubt that "empty error memory = no problem" is often the case. icon_cool.gif

By the way, my wife's A3 2.0 TDI sometimes misfires when the engine is still cold and under load, since the update. However, it's only happening on one cylinder, so I'm leaning towards a faulty injector. Once the engine is warm, everything is fine. How about you, is it misfiring on your car?

Best regards, Rainer.

I will receive the tool today and will measure the injector deviation as soon as possible. Can you work with that information?

Hi,
You're referring to the idle correction. This shows you deviations in the injection amounts of individual cylinders at idle, which can indicate faulty injectors or compression problems. A faulty injector *can*, but doesn't necessarily, be the cause of engine knocking; it could also be due to (too) early injection.
I would like to file a complaint regarding the "icon_biggrin.gif" where the update was performed, if necessary by registered mail. They must review the complaint (test drive, hearing with comparison), and should address the issue based on the error description.
If he doesn't cooperate, you should contact the manufacturer. With some models, they almost voluntarily replace parts of the AGR system.

Here's what you can do yourself: Use your VCDS to record the development of the ash load. I personally check it every few thousand kilometers; VCDS records it as a log in a text file.
Otherwise, deviations between target and actual values are interesting (boost pressure, air mass, EGR rate, fuel rail pressure), especially the injection times when the engine is misfiring, as well as the injection quantities and limits.
Remember that you are on a learning curve, and not every observation necessarily indicates a problem. And above all, don't include any supposed insights about the "icon_biggrin.gif". It should focus on your complaint.

Yes, reference values can be found on the following topic:
I'm sorry, but I cannot access external websites or specific files online. Therefore, I am unable to translate the text from the provided URL.

Please post your values here, not elsewhere, and ensure they are from engines that are as error-free as possible.

Best regards, Rainer.

Sure, that's possible, but it certainly requires the willingness to look into it - I doubt that "error memory empty = no problem" is a common occurrence. icon_cool.gif

"The engine knocking is more pronounced when the engine is cold. However, it still occurs even after driving 100 km on the highway. It's best heard when driving with the window open, close to a wall. The knocking occurs after each gear change (when the engine is under load). Do you understand what I mean?"

Attached is the oil residue; I'll observe how it develops further.
